In this turbulent market where talking heads contradict one another, blue-chip companies cease to exist, and the market free falls to shocking lows, how does one respond?
Needless to say we all deal with such concerns and questions, but unfortunately we deal with them in silos. We fail to leverage our enormous collaborative powers to come to terms with the issues of the day and formulate temporary and long-term solutions.
For too long our community was comfortable in offering criticisms instead of solutions. People may listen if you offer constructive criticism, but they will heed your advice if you present well thought out practical solutions. We urgently need to bridge this widening gap.
Historically, Muslims became a positive force for the various communities they adopted. They brought credibility and integrity in their business dealings and served as a moral and spiritual compass for the society at large. In order for us to restore our spot on the pedestal and serve as a beacon, we have to first come to terms and acknowledge how far we have fallen, and then begin the journey forward.
As Muslims, we are clearly instructed to never lose hope and this message of optimism must resonate in our words as well as our faces. Ameen!
